Shocking Truth About Child Crimes on Social Media

Ron DeSantis, the governor of the US state of Florida and withdrawn candidate for the 2024 presidential elections, revealed a shocking truth about child crimes on social media networks.

DeSantis stated that the number of crimes committed against children on social media platforms is greater than anywhere else, and that social media has a devastating impact on children’s mental health.

He added while introducing a new bill aiming to restrict the use of social media platforms in Florida: “We are trying to assist parents in dealing with a very delicate issue.”

DeSantis repeatedly emphasized that parents should have greater control over decisions concerning their children, especially in educational matters. Supporters argue that the bill protects children from potential harm online, including threats to mental health and privacy, according to Voice of America.

The state of Florida passed a law on Monday aimed at restricting minors under the age of 16 from accessing social media.

This decision, which will come into effect in January next year, comes amid growing concerns about the impact of social media on the country’s youth.

The law prohibits anyone under the age of 14 from opening an account on any of these platforms, and those aged 14 to 15 will require parental consent to join.

Most platforms set the minimum age to open an account at 13, but it is easy to circumvent this rule, leaving parents responsible for monitoring their children.
