STP announces support for Mahra and Hadhramaut demonstrations against the Brotherhood

The Southern Transitional Council (STC) affirmed on Saturday the right of the people of Mahra and Hadhramaut Valley to manage their cities and secure them with their own forces, praising peaceful protests against the Muslim Brotherhood.

This came during a meeting of the Presidency Council of the Southern Transitional Council (STC), chaired by President Commander Aidarus al-Zoubaidi, the STC’s Vice-President, and attended by STC ministers in the equal government.

At its meeting, the NTC Presidency Council reviewed the growing mass movement in the districts of Mahra province and the Hadhramaut valley to demand the transfer of forces there to fronts with Houthi militias in accordance with the requirements of the Riyadh Agreement.

The NTC praised the major victories achieved by the heroes of the southern armed forces in operations “Siham al-Sharq” and “Battle of the South” against terrorist and extremist groups in the provinces of Abyan and Shabwah, stressing that the great sacrifices made by the southern forces will remain a source of pride for the leadership and people of the south.

Also at its meeting, the Authority was briefed on the educational situation in all the governorates of the south, and the suffering of the education sector due to the accumulation of corruption, and the weak oversight in the education offices in the governorates.

The NTC called on the government and governors to take the necessary measures to correct the education situation, foremost among them changing corrupt leaders, intensifying monitoring, fielding schools, and reviewing the performance and trends of private schools.

The meeting addressed smuggling operations at sea outlets in the coastal strip that extends from the capital Aden to Bab al-Mandab. It called on the government to quickly enable Iranian state institutions to establish control over these outlets and enforce laws on them, to control contraband and stop the smuggling of contraband.

Popular demonstrations and active popular movements are taking place in the Hadhramaut Valley and Sahara and Mahra provinces, demanding the transfer of Muslim Brotherhood forces to the theater of operations with Houthi militias and empowering the people of the two provinces to manage their province administratively and militarily.

On Friday, Mahra province witnessed a large popular uprising in the Qishn area demanding implementation of the Riyadh Agreement, the transfer of forces in Mahra to front lines with Houthi militias in the northern areas, the formation of forces from the province to manage security and the deployment of southern forces instead of Muslim Brotherhood forces.
