“Sudan in the Heart of the UAE” Festival Celebrates Culture, Heritage, and Arts on May 5


The Sudanese community in the United Arab Emirates is organizing the “Sudan in the Heart of the UAE” festival at the Dubai World Trade Centre on Sunday to celebrate Sudanese culture and arts and promote the values of tolerance and coexistence prevailing among the society’s components in the UAE.

The festival, expected to be attended by around 4,000 members of the Sudanese community in the UAE, aims to highlight the uniqueness of Sudanese cultural heritage and introduce it amidst a festive atmosphere in the presence of some of the most prominent Sudanese figures residing in the UAE, including businessmen, artists, intellectuals, athletes, and others.

The festival will feature various entertainment activities, artistic performances, parades, and diverse heritage presentations.

It will also include a carnival market inspired by the prominent landmarks of Sudan, including the Arab market, a well-known traditional shopping destination in Sudan, which will provide festival visitors with a lively shopping experience by offering Sudanese handmade products in a purely Sudanese traditional atmosphere, accompanied by a visual display of the Arab market, a major shopping destination in Sudan, as well as a “Nile Corniche” corner providing a distinctive shopping experience for festival-goers and offering the most iconic traditional Sudanese dishes and beverages.

The festival will also feature a heritage exhibition showcasing the uniqueness of Sudanese heritage, along with a special photo corner for souvenir photos in a pure Sudanese traditional atmosphere, and other activities celebrating Sudanese culture and heritage.

Sudanese artist Nancy Ajaj will participate in the artistic segment with a variety of her notable works, and the diverse agenda of the event also includes the participation of several prominent stand-up comedians, as well as other types of content most followed on various social media platforms, including the famous Sudanese comedic content creator known as “Bosh Bashasha.”

The festival reflects the positive social bonds that connect members of the Sudanese community in the Emirates, as well as the remarkable presence of Sudanese businessmen and companies operating in the country, while also reflecting the values of tolerance and coexistence prevailing among all components of Emirati society.
