The Arab Coalition shows footage of the involvement of Hezbollah and Iran in Yemen war

The Coalition for the Support of Legitimacy in Yemen accused Iran and Hezbollah of sending experts and elements to Sana’a Airport to help the rebels launch ballistic missiles and planes heading towards Saudi Arabia from the airport, one of which killed two people.

At a press conference yesterday in Riyadh, coalition spokesman Brigadier General Turki al-Maliki accused the Houthis of “militarizing” Sanaa airport, Middle East Online reported.

He said: “The Houthis are using Sana’a airport as a key point and center for launching ballistic missiles and drones toward the kingdom”.

He showed a video of what he said was “the headquarters of Iranian and Hezbollah experts at the airport”, confirming that “Hezbollah is training the Houthis to booby-trap and use drones at the airport”.

He showed two other videos of a man al-Maliki said was a Hezbollah member booby-trapping an aircraft at a base inside Sanaa airport, and a man described as a Hezbollah leader speaking to Houthi fighters: “We have to close ranks”.

Al-Maliki said: “It is the responsibility of the international community to stop these hostile acts against this terrorist organization”, he said, referring to Lebanon’s Hezbollah.

Al-Maliki confirmed that the allied Houthi group has fired 430 ballistic missiles and 851 armed drones into Saudi Arabia since the war began in 2015; killing 59 Saudi civilians.

“After the press conference by the spokesperson of the Arab coalition, the Arab coalition began launching airstrikes to prevent the Houthis from transporting weapons in the capital, Sana’a”.

The coalition said in a statement carried by the Saudi Press Agency: “We monitored the transfer of weapons and began airstrikes in response to the threat to prevent their transfer and destruction”.

It called on “civilians not to gather or come near the air defense school in Sanaa”.

“The operation is in accordance with international humanitarian law and its customary rules”, it said.

“Sources close to leadership circles in the front row of Houthi militias, Iran’s arm in Yemen, have revealed simultaneous changes and actions in the security, military, intelligence, and executive authorities in Sana’a, including sweeping changes in guards, auxiliary and secretarial crews, and even accommodations, communications, and communications”.

According to information obtained by Yemen’s “The West Coast” news website, seismic reversals are striking the components of the multi-level and multi-wing leadership body of the Houthi militias in Sanaa, under the shock of the deep and painful blows that have been inflicted on Iran and its militias in Yemen in recent weeks. The repercussions point to a precise focus of the operations and objectives of the Alliance to Support Legitimacy at the level of the flaming fronts and towards Marib in particular, and at a central level that includes the capital, leadership levels, facilities, installations and sensitive and strategic hideouts.

A security source close to Houthi circles spoke of “a new phase, after the elimination of Irlo”.

“The past few days have been a time of great confusion, and the arrests and raids have not stopped at the level of guards, security personnel, and people close to and affiliated with the Houthi leadership”.

Accusations and suspicions of deep breaches of the coalition’s account have intensified, especially after access to highly sensitive and dangerous operating rooms, bunkers, warehouses, meetings and movements, and were vulnerable to coalition targeting.

The Yemeni government considered the ‏evidence presented by the Arab coalition as confirmation that what is happening in Yemen is Iranian aggression and further evidence of its interventions.

In a series of tweets, Minister of Information and Culture Muammar Al-Eryani said: “What Brigadier General Turki al-Maliki, the spokesman for the Coalition to Support Legitimacy, presented at his press conference confirms that Hezbollah and Iran are running the battles in Yemen, and that the Houthi militias are just a dirty tool for aggression that targets not only Yemen, but the entire region”.

Al-Eryani added that the scenes presented by the coalition are further evidence that the Iranian Revolutionary Guard and the Lebanese Hezbollah militia are directing military operations in Yemen – the leadership and planning, fighting and training, arming and manufacturing – firing ballistic missiles and booby-trapping planes destined to kill Yemenis, and targeting civilian objects and civilians in the kingdom.

Al-Eryani asked about the position of the presidency, the government, political forces, elites and the brotherly Lebanese people on the aggression led by the Hezbollah militias on Yemen, the devastation and destruction they caused, and hundreds of thousands of innocent civilian victims, and their position on their terrorist activities that undermine the security and stability of the region.

The Yemeni official warned that the continuation of aggression and terrorist activities led by Hassan Nasrallah and his militias against Yemen and the region destabilizes the image of Lebanon as a country of peace, love, beauty and coexistence, harms its relations with its brothers and friends, and leads it to a state of isolation from its surroundings and its Arab depth.

Al-Eryani renewed the Yemeni government’s call to its Lebanese brethren to declare a clear position on the aggression of Hezbollah militias, to exert real pressure to withdraw its experts and fighters, to stop the smuggling of weapons to Yemen, and to prevent the use of the lands and capabilities of the Lebanese state to support Houthi militias, in line with the government position and international resolutions related to the Yemeni crisis.
