The day after the Peace Summit, Ben Gvir stormed Al-Aqsa Mosque

Israel’s far-right National Security Minister, Itamar Ben Gvir, entered Al-Aqsa Mosque under heavy police protection.

The Islamic Waqf Directorate in Jerusalem reported that Ben Gvir carried out the raid on the final day of the Jewish holiday of Sukkot, noting that he had already stormed the mosque on the first day of the holiday the previous week.
In total, Ben Gvir has entered the compound 13 times since joining the government more than two years ago, 10 of them during the war in Gaza.

Thousands of Israeli extremists also stormed the mosque during the Sukkot holiday.

At the same time, Israeli forces tightened restrictions on Palestinian residents of Jerusalem, preventing many from accessing the mosque as part of measures designed to secure the incursions.

These actions followed calls by so-called “Temple groups” urging large-scale raids throughout the Jewish holiday.

Today’s incursion took place a day after the signing of an agreement to end the war in Gaza, during the Sharm El-Sheikh Summit, co-chaired by Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi and U.S. President Donald Trump.

Trump visited Israel yesterday before heading to Egypt to participate in the summit’s proceedings.
