The Muslim Brotherhood Attempts to Conceal the Truth About Its Ties with Al-Qaeda… What Did They Do?

The Muslim Brotherhood in Yemen is attempting to conceal the truth about its connections with the terrorist organization Al-Qaeda by condemning terrorist operations.

The Al-Islah party, viewed as the political arm of the Muslim Brotherhood, described the recent terrorist attack that targeted the Third Support and Reinforcement Brigade in Abyan province, southern Yemen, as a “heinous crime.”

The party’s spokesperson and Deputy Head of the Media Department, Adnan Al-Adeeni, stated: “We strongly condemn the heinous terrorist crime that targeted the Third Support and Reinforcement Brigade in Abyan. We offer our condolences to the families of the martyrs and wish a speedy recovery to the injured.”

Al-Adeeni also emphasized the necessity for official state institutions to fulfill their duties by working according to a comprehensive national strategy that incorporates all efforts and unifies all capabilities, ensuring a holistic response to terrorist incidents.

The death toll from the car bomb attack on the headquarters of the Southern Transitional Council forces, at Al-Furaidh School in Moudia district, eastern Abyan, has risen to 16 dead and 18 injured.

Many remnants of the Al-Qaeda organization in Yemen have joined forces affiliated with the Muslim Brotherhood and integrated into them after the series of defeats their organization has suffered in recent years.

Experts in extremist groups believe that the Al-Islah party, by relying on Al-Qaeda fighters, is reviving old organizational ties between the Brotherhood and the group in Yemen and beyond. Indeed, Al-Qaeda, as a jihadist organization, is one of the “legitimate offspring” of the Brotherhood’s ideology.

Some scholars refer to the close ties that existed between one of the key founders of the Yemeni branch of the Muslim Brotherhood, Sheikh Abdel Majid Al-Zindani, who never hid his connections with Al-Qaeda, which he considers a “legitimate” component of the Yemeni scene. In 2014, he publicly called, via a local television broadcast, for dialogue with the organization as one of the necessary conditions for achieving stability in the country and avoiding sectarian strife.
