The Muslim Brotherhood Continues to Plunder Yemenis… Their Latest Exploits

The Muslim Brotherhood group in the city of Taiz continues to plunder citizens and impose illegal levies and taxes, exploiting the urgent needs of citizens for various services, such as passports.

They have taken advantage of the Immigration and Passports Authority, headed by a Brotherhood leader, to increase the price of passports beyond the official rates and in violation of the country’s regulations.

Sources cited by the website “Al-Muntasaf Net” stated that the Muslim Brotherhood group ousted the director of the Passports and Nationality Authority of the province and appointed a loyalist to impose levies that are not deposited into the state treasury but are shared with influential figures in the local, military, and security authorities.

The sources added that the new administration, loyal to the Brotherhood, imposed a new rate of (12500) riyals per passport, in addition to additional fees of (16500) riyals for other attachments. The previous rate for a passport was only (7) thousand riyals over the past (8) years.

The sources explained that the involvement of brokers has raised the cost of issuing an urgent passport to (500) Saudi riyals, coinciding with the opening of the eastern passage of the city of Taiz.
