Legal experts, politicians, and activists have urged the army not to heed the calls of the former regime’s remnants and the Muslim Brotherhood. Instead, they emphasized the importance of handling accusations of collaboration with the Rapid Support Forces through legal channels and not leaving the matter to Islamist militia elements, according to Medameek news outlet.
Khalid Omar Youssef, a leader of the Tagaddom Coordination, stated in a post on his Facebook page: “The people of Al-Jazirah have the right to rejoice after enduring a difficult year filled with all forms of persecution and suffering since the Rapid Support Forces entered the state, accompanied by soldiers and gangs.”
