Through three axes – this is how Hezbollah controls Lebanon’s parliamentary elections

Major concerns in Lebanese circles are that the terrorist Hezbollah swept the parliamentary elections scheduled for May 15. In particular, it relies on three main points in its plan.

Weapon axis

The terrorist and sectarian party is relying on weapons in its electoral battle. It is brandishing them in front of all those who represent it as dangerous. The scenes of New Year’s celebrations in Lebanon during the 2022 New Year’s celebrations are perhaps the best proof of this.

Lebanese observers described this behavior at the time as a warning from Hezbollah to its opponents that it is the weapon that will respond to all those who oppose Hezbollah’s plan in Lebanon.

Shia community mobilizes behind Hezbollah

Hezbollah buys the Shiite community with privileges from the rest of the Lebanese people, and also makes understandings with the Amal Movement headed by the Speaker of the Parliament Nabih Berri, and uses the Shiite leanings to attract their votes in the next parliament, on the grounds that in light of the current economic crisis, the party will only support the Shiite community, which is the basis of the sectarianism that Hezbollah is propagating in Lebanon.

Christian National Cover

Hezbollah supports the Free Patriotic Movement, which governs Lebanon, based on alliances between Hezbollah’s leader and Gebran Bassil, head of the FPM. This makes Hezbollah exploit political money in this regard as well, by offering Christians the temptation to vote, in exchange for putting some MPs from the FPM on Hezbollah’s lists.

Through the deal between Nasrallah and Bassil, Hezbollah will be responsible for spending on the FPM’s electoral propaganda, in exchange for presidential cover.
