Tragic Death of a Libyan Girl After Brutal Torture

The city of Tobruk in Libya witnessed a painful incident on Wednesday, sparking widespread anger and sadness among Libyans following the announcement of the death of a young girl who was brutally tortured until she passed away.

Libyan sources and media reported that the girl, Asil Tarek Al-Mabrouk, aged 6, died in Tobruk Hospital due to severe torture inflicted by her stepmother.

The preliminary forensic report, based on an external medical examination, revealed that the death resulted from beatings to various parts of the body, particularly the head and face.

The report specified that “the chest and thighs had bruises and marks from a hard object, the back showed signs of beating with a heated metal object, and there was a complete fracture of the right forearm.”

The report, which circulated on social media, also noted “signs of strangulation and oxygen deficiency in the body, along with a nervous shock that led to death,” confirming that a final autopsy report would be issued. The hospital retained the child’s body and informed the judicial authorities, who then began investigating the father and stepmother.

Later, the authorities summoned the girl’s father, mother, siblings, and stepmother to hear their testimonies without detaining any of them, which angered the mother and her family.

The death of the girl sparked a wave of anger among Libyans, who expressed their deep sadness over the suffering the child endured before her death and demanded the maximum punishment for those involved in this crime.
