Truck crash in Philippines ravine leaves 15 dead (Photos) 

Fifteen people were killed and several others injured on Thursday after a truck veered off a winding road and plunged into a ravine about 50 meters deep in central Philippines.

Steven Polinar, spokesperson for the “Negros Oriental” police office, said in radio statements: “The driver lost control… It has been raining for two days, so the road was slippery.” Polinar mentioned that rescue teams rushed to the accident area on Wednesday afternoon, and the identity of all passengers has already been determined, adding that the driver is being treated in the hospital and may face charges.

Road accidents frequently occur in the Philippines due to a lack of strict regulation in public transportation and poor road maintenance.
