Turk kills wife and children, attempts suicide, reasons remain mysterious
In a tragic incident, a Turkish man ended the lives of his wife and three children before attempting suicide, causing a wide uproar locally.
The incident unfolded in the Beyoglu Hagia Ahmed area of Istanbul, where Ozgur Nayman shot his wife Sevilay and three children inside an apartment on the third floor.
Neighbors immediately informed the police upon hearing gunshots, prompting them to rush to the scene along with paramedics. Unfortunately, they were unable to save the victims, who were found lifeless.
Paramedics managed to rescue the perpetrator, who had shot himself in a failed suicide attempt. He was then transported to the intensive care unit of a hospital in Istanbul.
As of now, investigative authorities have not determined the motive behind the perpetrator’s crime, but media reports suggested the existence of family disputes.
Reports linked their speculation to a post made by the perpetrator on his personal “X” (formerly Twitter) account, where he expressed feeling “extreme boredom with everything” and stated, “I will eventually die, either today or tomorrow. Since I love my wife and children very much, I want to save them from this false world.”
