U.S. imposes new Iran sanctions – Details

The United States imposed new sanctions related to Iran, the US Treasury Department announced.

“The new US Iran-related sanctions target individuals connected to Paravar Pars, an Iranian drone manufacturer,” the department said in a statement posted on its website.

Late last month, the Treasury Department said on its website that the U.S. had issued sanctions related to the IRGC, targeting ten individuals.

“The latest sanctions target IRGC support institutions and five of its members,” it said.

“We have imposed new sanctions against leaders of Iran’s Revolutionary Guard Corps for human rights violations.”

“They continue to hold the Iranian regime accountable for violence, show trials, executions of demonstrators and other means of repression against its own people.”

The U.S. Department also targeted suppliers of Iranian drones that Washington says Russia is using to target civilian infrastructure in Ukraine with a sanctions package in January.

In a statement at the time, the Treasury Department said it sanctioned six executives and board members of Al Quds Aviation Industry, also known as light aircraft design and manufacturing industries.
