UAE Red Crescent supports southern Libya with Eid sacrifice
A group of sacrifices offered by the Emirates Red Crescent to people on limited incomes arrived in southwest Libya on Monday.
The sacrifices were made to citizens in Ubari, Ghat in southern Libya and other areas in cooperation with the Council of Tuareg Tribal Sheikhs in Libya.
The arrival of the sacrificial animal is not new to the UAE’s efforts to support Libyans, especially the people of the south, said Hussein Kuwaywi, media spokesman for the Tuareg Tribal Council. Last Ramadan, 4,000 Ramadan food baskets were provided to Ubari and Ghat.
In a statement to Al-Ain News, Kuwaywi explained that the shipment was provided to low-income citizens, especially in light of the high prices of sacrificial animals in the country.
The Council of Touareg Sheiks and Tribes in Libya thanked the humanitarian role played by the United Arab Emirates, the General Command of the Libyan Army and the Libyan Red Crescent in facilitating these shipments to southern Libya.
