UAE Writes Historic Epic in Supporting the Palestinian People as Eid Approaches
The United Arab Emirates continues its efforts to provide aid to the Palestinian brothers in Gaza as part of the “Gallant Knight 3” humanitarian operation ordered by His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, may God preserve him, to support the Palestinian brothers.
The total UAE aid provided to the Palestinian people until yesterday amounted to 21,954 tons, transported by 203 cargo planes, three cargo ships, and 659 trucks, in addition to the 14,135 cases treated at the field hospital in Gaza, as well as receiving 105 cases at the floating hospital in the Egyptian city of El Arish.
Unwavering Support
The UAE’s humanitarian efforts are part of the country’s fraternal stances and its approach to supporting brothers in times of crises, embodying the deep human values of the leadership and people of the UAE.
Displaced persons from Gaza sent messages of thanks and love to the President of the UAE, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, for the assistance provided by the UAE Red Crescent as part of the “Gallant Knight 3” operation.
Gaza’s displaced persons emphasized, in a video released by the UAE Red Crescent, that the UAE is a pillar for brothers in times of hardship, noting that since the start of the war in Gaza, the UAE has been regularly sending medical and relief aid to support and assist the brothers in the territory.
As part of the “Gallant Knight 3” operation, the UAE inaugurated a UAE field hospital in Rafah on December 3, 2023, with a capacity of 200 beds.
The hospital includes surgery rooms qualified to perform various types of surgeries, including general, pediatric, and vascular surgeries, as well as intensive care units for adults and children, an anesthesia department, and specialized clinics including internal medicine, dentistry, orthopedics, psychiatry, family medicine, pediatrics, and gynecology, in addition to auxiliary medical services.
Major Humanitarian Efforts
Dr. Ayman al-Raqab, a Palestinian political science professor, confirmed that the UAE has provided humanitarian support to the Palestinian people at various levels, adding that the UAE was among the first countries to launch humanitarian initiatives aimed at alleviating the suffering of the Palestinian people.
He added that the UAE rushed from the start of the crisis to provide emergency humanitarian and medical assistance to Gaza, and the “Gallant Knight 3” operation was launched.
He continued by saying that the UAE has bolstered its humanitarian response to the crisis by continuing to provide a steady flow of urgent food, humanitarian, and medical aid to the Palestinian brothers, emphasizing that these initiatives embody the UAE’s historical approach and commitment to supporting the Palestinian people, alleviating the severity of the humanitarian crisis they face, and its values of solidarity and cooperation based on a long history of relief and humanitarian work.
