Reflects the depth of relations… the president of the Emirates Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan in an important visit to the Sultanate of Oman


As part of the deep relations between the United Arab Emirates and the Sultanate of Oman, President of the United Arab Emirates Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan will, tomorrow, Tuesday, hold a “state visit” to the Sultanate of Oman to discuss a number of issues and to crown the growing relations between the two countries. The visit will last for two days at the invitation of Sultan Haitham bin Tariq bin Taimur Al Said, the Sultan of Oman.

Historical relations

For his part, the Royal Court’s statement confirmed that this visit reflects the bonds of friendship and good-neighborliness between Oman and the United Arab Emirates, and promotes the historical relations between the two countries. It added that a number of areas and aspects of common interest will be discussed, contributing to the realization of the aspirations and hopes of both countries. Following the announcement of the visit and its date, a hashtag bearing the name #Mohamed_Bin_Zayed was issued, the highest tweeted in the Sultanate of Oman’s Twitter site. Omani tweeps, including journalists and historical researchers, welcomed the visit of the great Sultan’s guest, considering that this visit reflects the deep and lasting love between the two countries.

Positive effect

For his part, Ambassador Mohammed Sultan Al-Suwaidi of the United Arab Emirates in the Sultanate of Oman said that the forthcoming visit of Mohamed bin Zayed will have a positive impact on the progress of relations between the two countries. He said in an interview with the Omani News Agency that this visit is evidence of the depth of relations between the two brotherly countries in various political, economic, cultural and social fields, in addition to the close brotherly relations between the two leaderships of the two countries, which we rarely find similar at the level of the two countries, especially on the economic level.

New era

Abdullah Al-Hashimi, an activist and political analyst, said the visit of UAE President Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed to the Sultanate is an affirmation of the harmony between the two countries and the convergence of views on security, politics and economy. He explained that the visit of the UAE President reflects the transition of relations between the two countries to a new era, adding that the Omani and UAE peoples share the origins, customs, traditions and foundations of civilization, noting that the future will be much better between the brothers of the Sultanate of Oman and the United Arab Emirates.

State visit

UAE economic analyst Nael Al-Jawabra said that the visit confirms the keenness of the leadership of the two countries to communicate, consult, and discuss the various challenges in order to build a coherent position towards them that serves the interests of both countries on the one hand and is in the interest of the security of the region. In addition, the visit will witness many economic conditions and joint cooperation between the two countries.

The Emirati analyst added that the visit will discuss the volume of trade and economy between the UAE and the Sultanate of Oman, and future prospects in light of global economic changes and how the two countries cooperate in the coming period. The visit is the first “state visit” by Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan to an Arab and Gulf country since he assumed the reins of power, and reflects the desire of the two brotherly countries to consult continuously regarding bilateral relations and ways to develop them and push them forward at all levels.
