Authorities have issued warnings of massive waves that could hit the eastern U.S. coast by Sunday.
The center, based in Miami, added that the hurricane is located about 2,655 kilometers southwest of the Azores Islands, accompanied by winds reaching a maximum speed of 215 kilometers per hour, according to Reuters.
The U.S. is currently facing a series of hurricanes, with at least 200 people killed due to Hurricane “Helen,” which ravaged several southeastern states.

According to official U.S. sources on Thursday, the hurricane caused widespread destruction, especially in North Carolina, where more than half of the victims were found.
A count by Agence France-Presse (AFP), based on official figures, revealed that 201 people have been killed in North and South Carolina, Georgia, Florida, Tennessee, and Virginia.

This makes “Helen” the second deadliest hurricane to hit the U.S. mainland in over half a century, following Hurricane Katrina in 2005.
In addition to the fatalities, up to 600 people are still missing across several states as a result of the hurricane, which made landfall on Friday.
North Carolina Governor Roy Cooper said, “We know the destruction caused by Hurricane Helen is beyond description.”
