What did she do on a flight? “Shackling” is the punishment for the naughty passenger
After attempting to open the door in the air and assaulting a flight attendant, the crew had to tie a passenger to her seat with tape.
The recent incident on an American Airlines flight from Dallas to Charlotte was documented with a passenger video.
The passenger is believed to have had a seizure of a mental illness during the flight, which is supposed to last from two hours to 3 hours.
The passenger Ariana Matheena stated that it was obvious that something was happening in the front of the plane. The crew closed the toilet doors. “We saw the crew enter the plane to make it safe”, before the captain asked the passengers to stick to their seats because “there is a problem”.
After landing, the photos showed that the passenger was tied to her seat with duct tape, which had also been filled with her mouth, and that she remained in place until all passengers had left the plane, while the medical team waited for her abroad.
The American Airlines said in a statement that the passenger was restrained “after raising concerns about the crew of the plane.”
“During the flight from Dallas to Charlotte on 6 July, the crew reported possible security concerns after a passenger tried to open the front door, physically assaulted the crew and injured a flight attendant,” the statement said.
Continued: “For the safety and security of other agents and our crew, the passenger was restricted until the flight landed, where it was met by law enforcement and emergency personnel.”
The woman was taken to hospital for a mental health assessment before being placed on the US Airlines no-fly list.
