Yemen: Houthi Militia Escalates Attacks and Threatens International Navigation


Despite Houthi’s relentless crimes and their insistence on disrupting the UN truce and committing war crimes against the Yemeni people, the international community continues to remain silent and raises many questions, despite Houthi’s threats to the security of global maritime navigation and his implementation of Iranian plans to strike vital and important installations affecting the world’s economies.

Breach of international conventions

Yemeni political analyst Abdul Hafeez Nahari said the Houthi militias are committing dozens of criminal acts on a daily basis, no different from those committed by terrorist organizations such as al-Qaeda and ISIS. He said the time has come for them to be classified as a terrorist group by international community organizations and countries around the world because terrorist operations have escalated to threaten the security and economy of world countries.

The Yemeni political analyst added that the Houthi attacks further deteriorate the humanitarian situation and the economic situation of Yemenis, because they target vital installations in the country, which have already affected the internal situation of the country, pointing out that the threats to maritime traffic and international trade, and in violation of international conventions; This underlines the importance of the international community acting quickly to stop these attacks and put an end to them.

Terrorism deterrence

Hani Mashour, a southern political analyst, said it was strange that the international community would adhere to the humanitarian truce despite its collapse due to the intransigence of the Iranian-backed Houthi militia and its military escalation, which requires a real solution to deter the Houthis and the terrorists on the ground.

The southern political analyst added that the Houthi terrorist militias are responsible for every soul that is killed, every drop of blood that falls, and all material losses and suffering of the Yemeni people, pointing out that the time needs to take deterrent positions that amount to a terrorist attack in threatening international navigation and risking regional and international peace and security, and to move decisively to stop Iranian interference in Yemeni affairs, and to classify the Houthi militia as a terrorist organization.
