On his social media platform Truth Social, Trump stated: “There is no reason for Joe Biden to continue accessing classified information. We are immediately revoking Joe Biden’s clearance and halting his daily intelligence briefings.” He added in all capital letters: “Joe, YOU’RE FIRED!”
Trump explained that he made this decision because Biden had done the same in 2021 when the Democratic president cited Trump’s “erratic behavior” during the January 6, 2021, attack on the Capitol as a reason to revoke his briefings just before leaving the White House.

In his Friday post, Trump argued that Biden “cannot be trusted” with intelligence briefings. He referred to a report by a special counsel on Biden’s handling of classified documents, which found that the 82-year-old president suffers from “memory lapses.”
Trump himself had previously faced accusations of mishandling classified documents, but the Department of Justice dropped the case after his victory in the 2024 elections.
