Politically, Economically and Socially: Successful efforts by Moustafa Al-Kazimi to improve the situation in Iraq

Many political changes are taking place in Iraq recently, as the presidential candidacy was opened, according to constitutional times, after the first session of the Iraqi parliament, Sunday, after about three months of the elections, despite Iran’s attempts to obstruct this.

This follows the considerable efforts of the President of the Government of Iraq, Moustafa al-Kazimi, who has changed his life in the country and whose main responsibility is his responsibility to the citizens, the development of his country, the return of Baghdad to the Arab world, and to the ranks of the developed countries.

As one of the most recent concrete efforts on the international community, the European Union has decided to remove Iraq from the list of high-risk states for money laundering and terrorist financing, which the Prime Minister has identified as an important step in establishing effective Iraqi diplomacy in the service of national interests, stressing that the efforts of the Government and diplomacy are continuing at various levels to put Iraq in its proper place.

Prior to that, Al-Kazimi had made considerable efforts to combat terrorism and restore stability in the affected areas. In addition, late last year, the Government continued its intense efforts to restore stability, security and a dignified life in the city of Sinjar, as he tweeted: “We congratulate our Yazidi people Eid al-Soum (Rosette Ezzy) and wish them great happiness in the new year of their country, Iraq. We continue our efforts to restore stability, security and a dignified life. We continue to uphold the authority of the state and the law in the fight against extremist ideas and organizations, including ISIS”.

He also addressed attempts to blackmail the political needs of the Iraqi people during the elections, asserting that Iraq is not a garden for anyone and does not belong to one component alone. He attempted to hinder all efforts aimed at influencing the electoral process, in addition to fulfilling the promise of holding the elections on time, despite the campaign of skepticism that accompanied it.

With skill and competence, al-Kazimi led the battle with the terrorist group ISIS even before he assumed power as head of the intelligence service, as well as his efforts to counter the chaos of weapons proliferation in the hands of armed militias, attempt to reform the security file through a series of changes in the country’s security and military structure, and carry out preemptive operations against ISIS remnants.

The Iraqi Prime Minister’s efforts were successful in several situations, including his success in securing the hosting of the Baghdad Conference for Cooperation and Partnership last August, with the participation of many regional and international leaders. His government’s success in securing the recent electoral process, which was described as the best in terms of the security and political environment, in addition to his constant desire to keep Iraq away from the American-Iranian polarization circle and from the circle of Iranian hegemony.

He succeeds in fulfilling his promises to a large number of protesters’ demands, carrying out a number of government achievements, including “connecting the electricity grid to the international grid from next year onwards, addressing the protracted electricity crisis with the Persian Gulf states, Jordan, Egypt, or Turkey, and linking with neighboring Iran,” with a number of economic projects, including solar power, as well as power generation from gas plants, education, transport, and railways, and important reforms through the “White Paper,” which contains solid and objective ideas.

In addition, al-Kazimi took control of several Iraqi border crossings, saving $60 million for the public treasury and depriving armed groups and other criminal groups that controlled these crossings of millions of dollars.
