Urgent Arab movement to support Sudan face to the inundations
103 dead and 50 wounded,
total fall of more than 27,000 houses and partial collapse of more than 42,000 homes
are the results of the floods in Sudan
That pushed Arab countries to move and provide aid
during an urgent distant gathering of the League of Arab States
They decided :
-Send a plane charged with humanitarian aid
-Establish an operating room at the university to follow the evolution of the situation
– Make the Arab organization for agricultural development the representative of the League
and the tool for receiving humanitarian, medical and food aid
besides to providing financial assistance to affected people and small farmers
The Arab Organization for Agricultural Development announced:
-Provide urgent financial support of $ 50,000
-Provide $ 100,000 in food aid
Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport
will send specialized technical delegation to evaluate effect of floods
and make a study on the actual extent of the damage in order to provide the assistance required,
and also provide scholarships for the children of affected persons in the branch of the Arab Academy in Aswan, southern Egypt
from the current academic year.
