Simple Ways to Protect the Stomach from Gas… Avoid These Foods
Intestinal gas is among the perplexing health issues that many people suffer from, occasionally placing them in embarrassing situations.
Some individuals experience gas in the colon and small intestines due to food fermentation, making digestion difficult by bacteria or due to the digestive system not completing its task of breaking down various nutrients, including sugars and gluten, for example. This is in addition to constipation, weakened carbohydrate absorption, and digestive system disorders.
A report published by “Mayo Clinic” revealed 4 steps through which you can protect yourself from intestinal gas, as follows:
- Reduce Fiber Intake: This includes various types such as nuts, berries, pears, and others. Despite their numerous benefits, they can cause gas in the stomach.
- Avoid Foods That Cause Gas: These include peas, cabbage, broccoli, legumes, lentils, whole grains, carbonated drinks, and cauliflower.
- Limit Fatty Foods: These types of foods can slow down the digestion process.
- Read Dairy Product Ingredients: Experts advise reading labels on dairy products, as consumers may discover a high percentage of lactose, which causes gas.
Experts recommend consuming types that contain little or no lactose.
