Due to the Muslim Brotherhood… a medical catastrophe hits Taiz
The Yemeni province of Taiz, under the dominance of the Al-Islah party, the Muslim Brotherhood‘s arm in Yemen, is facing a real medical catastrophe. The group has completely neglected the medical field, closing down many hospitals and medical centers and selling medical and humanitarian aid drugs.
Due to deliberate medical negligence by the Muslim Brotherhood in the province, many diseases have spread, including cholera, which has affected a number of people and prompted doctors in Taiz to declare a state of alert and emergency.
Political activist Safi al-Din Zubair stated in an interview with Al-Bawaba News that the health situation in Taiz has deteriorated for more than two years.
Children were the most vulnerable to death due to the denial of access to their medicines and deprivation of vaccination, while the elderly suffered from all kinds of heart diseases due to intense psychological stress, and most of them died due to lack of treatment. Other diseases, such as tuberculosis, have also spread alongside cholera.
The political activist added that due to the stubbornness of the Muslim Brotherhood, there is a shortage of medical staff as a large number of doctors have left Taiz, fleeing repression, and there is no nursing staff, even anesthesiologists have fled, many of them outside Yemen.
He also confirmed that a large number of young people were suffering from diabetes and hypertension due to stress, anxiety, tension, and difficult living conditions, in addition to the continuous bombings that cause a state of panic and intense fear. A large number of young people under the age of 40 have also been affected by angina pectoris.
