In late February, about 20,000 doses of the Sputnik V vaccine arrived in the Gaza Strip, via the Rafah border crossing, provided by the United Arab Emirates.

On his Twitter account, Dahlan said : “In continuation of the generous UAE giving, I promise our steadfast and patient parents that a new batch of anti-MERS vaccines will arrive.”

He added : “The new batch of 40,000 doses of the Sputnik V vaccine arrives in the Gaza Strip tomorrow afternoon, bringing the total doses to 60,000, enough to ensure the safety and lives of 30,000 Palestinian citizens”.

“The new batch of vaccines will be used to protect ten thousand recipients in the Gaza Strip by allocating 20,000 doses, as well as 20,000 doses to ten thousand of our medical and target groups in the West Bank, in accordance with full health, ethical and transparent standards”, he continued.
