After the heavy losses… New Houthi maneuver
“The Houthi terrorist militias have adopted a new maneuver, after the heavy losses it suffered as a result of the Yemeni army’s advances on several fronts, and the airstrikes of the Coalition to Support Legitimacy, which targeted several of the group’s warehouses and its drone and ballistic missile workshops”.
“Although the pro-Iranian Houthi group does not abide by any covenants and charters, and is the biggest witness to its past violations of the Stockholm Agreement, the militia yesterday requested dialog with Arab coalition countries, with international participation, to resolve the Yemen crisis”.
This was reported in statements by the foreign minister of the unrecognized Houthi government, Hicham Charaf, published by the SABA news agency.
Charaf said: “I advise the international quartet (the United States, Britain, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates) and the Arab coalition countries to accept sitting with the group at one table to end the war and aggression, under the auspices of the United Nations or through international participation including Russia, China, Germany, and any Gulf state that is not supportive of the coalition”.
He added: “Sit at the dialog table to agree on arrangements for a ceasefire, the opening of the Sana’a International Airport, and other sea and land crossings”.
There was no immediate comment from the countries the group spoke of, or the Arab coalition which has repeatedly accused the Houthis of escalation and lack conviction in a political solution.
“On Wednesday, the Quartet (the United States, Britain, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates) expressed concern over the grave humanitarian situation in Yemen, accusing the Houthi group of causing the escalation and rejecting the ceasefire”.
