Cade essential oil has a very good reputation for treating skin and scalp diseases. What are its properties? How to use it ? What precautions should be taken ? Futura takes stock of this essential oil.

Cade essential oil comes from Juniperus oxycedrus or Himalayan juniper. It contains active compounds that give it certain properties. By increasing the secretion of urine, it participates in the detoxification of the body and the elimination of toxins. Thanks to its terpenic compounds, it is anti-infectious agents (parasites in particular). It promotes blood circulation. It contains anti-inflammatory molecules. It also has calming and soothing properties.

What are the indications for cade oil?

Cade oil can be used in skin diseases such as urticaria, eczema, psoriasis but also on the scalp (dandruff, greasy hair). It is also recommended for skin infections (scabies or mycosis).

A drug based on cade oil, Caditar (solution for cutaneous application to dilute) had obtained Marketing Authorization (MA) in the local treatment of psoriasis and seborrheic dermatitis, but it was withdrawn in January 2015.

How to use cade oil?

Cade essential oil can be used in several ways. Do not hesitate to ask your pharmacist for advice if you have any doubts or if you need advice.

For skin application, dilute 1 drop of essential oil in 4 drops of vegetable oil. This mixture can then be applied to the area to be treated, in massage. It should not be applied to the anogenital areas. For a disorder of the scalp, it is recommended to pour a drop in a dab of shampoo or mask or hair conditioner.

Cade oil can also be inhaled. In this context, it is rather its relaxing properties that are sought: fight against addictions, anxieties, anxiety, sadness. Cade oil would also promote meditation. There are two ways to inhale this essential oil. Wet inhalation involves diluting a few drops in a container of hot water before inhaling the vapours. Dry inhalation consists of applying the essential oil on a handkerchief, on the wrist or on an essential oil jewellery. The person can then breathe in the object as soon as they feel the need.

It is also possible to diffuse cade oil. The nebulizer propels the oil via a pump. The fogger diffuses the oil using ultrasound. Devices also allow the oils to be diffused using gentle heat.

Are there precautions for use for cade oil?

This oil should not be used either in pregnant women or in children under 6 years old. It should not be applied for prolonged periods. It presents a risk of allergic reaction.
