Depriving the Brotherhood’s of the oil gains in South Yemen.. Details

The Chairman of the Presidential Command Council, Dr. Rashad Al-Alimi, announced the appointment of Major General Aidarous al-Zoubaidi, a member of the Presidential Council, to head the High Committee for Financial Resources on all state facilities, land and sea ports, ports, oil resources, and others.

During the meeting, the Presidency Council unanimously decided to assign neutral military forces to protect Shabwah and Hadramaut oil fields away from former Brotherhood forces in exploration and production areas, Saba reported.

The Brotherhood’s attempts and plans to hijack the south’s resources, namely the oil wealth, make it imperative that attention be paid and that care be taken to counter the threats that rebel militias may pose to the south.

Shabwah governor Awad al-Awlaki warned that Brotherhood insurgents would exploit the special security forces they have set up to protect oil installations and fields in the Hadramaut and Marib Valley to threaten the provincial capital Ataq by supporting the rebel military and security leadership.

During a meeting with military and security leaders in Shabwah yesterday, al-Awlaki vowed to take “firm military measures to secure sovereign facilities” if the rebels take advantage of the task of protecting oil companies, Al-Ayyam Aden reported.

The senior official also directed the formation of three military, security, and civilian committees to tally forces, equipment, and damage after the repercussions of the Brotherhood insurgency in Ataq. He also approved a security plan to secure the provincial capital and adjacent districts, specifying the tasks of military units, including intelligence work.

The Governor of Shabwah congratulated the military and security leaders for their heroic victories against the rebel forces, stressing the importance of strengthening the performance of the security services and joint coordination between all military units to implement the security plan and normalize civilian life, thus contributing to the consolidation of security and stability.

A few days ago, the governor of Shabwah launched a military counter-operation that culminated in securing the city of Ataq and putting down a military rebellion led by the Brotherhood and its leaders in the Ataq axis and the Special Forces and the Salvation Army against legality. This occurred after the commander of the Special Forces, Abd Rabbu Lakab, was dismissed for his involvement in fighting and causing chaos in the vital oil and gas-rich province.

The operation was to impose the state’s authority and implement decisions by the Presidential Council that removed the Brotherhood’s rebel leaders and appointed three military and security leaders to replace them in the Ataq axis, the Special Forces and the Shabwah police.

The commander of the 5th Brigade of the Shabwah Defense Force, Mufrij Al-Harithi, was ambushed yesterday by cells of the Brotherhood’s terrorist militias.

According to sources cited by Aden Time, leader al-Harithi was transferred to a hospital for treatment.
