Sudan: Popular demands to classify the Brotherhood as a terrorist organization after their attack on lawyers

The Sudanese people’s demands to classify the Muslim Brotherhood as a terrorist organization have escalated in recent days. This comes after the Brotherhood was involved in a violent attack carried out by members of the Brotherhood at the Lawyers’ Syndicate in Khartoum during a workshop to discuss a constitutional framework for the transitional period. The terrorist attack brought to mind the record of the terrorist organization in carrying out bloody acts that caused thousands of victims inside and outside Sudan during their rule and caused Sudan to be placed on the list of state sponsors of terrorism for nearly 27 years.

Terrorist organization

Mohammed al-Tayeb, a Sudanese political analyst, said: The terrorist Muslim Brotherhood organization in Sudan was the main reason that the State of Sudan was on the terrorist lists in some countries. In addition, the Sudanese State was isolated from other Arab and international States, which has negatively impacted economically and politically.

The Sudanese analyst and writer added that the demands to classify the Brotherhood as a terrorist group are a step in the right direction. He added that Sudan suffered for many years from the rule of the Brotherhood until it became an isolated, global pariah state tied to debts on the economic level, pointing out that the ugly face of the Brotherhood has returned once again and has been clearly shown in the attack on the Lawyers Union in Khartoum.

Popular rejection

Renegade Brotherhood leader Dr. Ibrahim Rabie, who specializes in terrorist groups, said: Despite the overthrow of the Muslim Brotherhood in Sudan years ago, the Brotherhood remains active and continues to carry out its absurd plans in the country, through the possession of a large network in Sudan that implements the plans of those groups that take their orders from the international organization of the Brotherhood.

The specialist in the affairs of terrorist groups said that the requests to classify the Brotherhood as a terrorist organization are due to the fact that most Sudanese political and popular forces do not agree to the presence of this Brotherhood group in the scene again, pointing out that the Brotherhood is the one who supported all terrorist and extremist movements in the world; The group has become an Arab and international outcast.
