Disintegration and Crises.. Ennahdha Movement on its way to an End
Ennahdha is facing a state of disintegration and major crisis after the arrest of Rached Ghannouchi, the leader of the Muslim Brotherhood movement who is facing terrorism charges, for making statements likely to destabilize the state.
Abyss
The movement’s future is at stake following the arrest of its historic leader and the closure of its headquarters for the first time since the 2010 revolution, a report said; This means that the future of the Brotherhood in Tunisia is at stake, and that all the postponed files are now being opened simultaneously.
The Brotherhood’s End
Dr. Badra Qaloul, a Tunisian political analyst and head of the National Center for Strategic Studies in Tunis, said: “The arrest of Ghannouchi marks the end of a whole phase in Tunisia, and Ennahdha must be held accountable for all the thorny issues, as well as its link to the Muslim Brotherhood movement. All of this, in her opinion, will lead to a balance in the management of the state by the government, after it gets rid of the head of the snake.
It is now based solely on a large media reservoir that depends on the movement’s funds, in addition to its allies abroad, but all of this will not affect the measures taken by the Tunisian state, especially with the decision of the Minister of Interior, issued hours ago, to prevent the movement from arranging or holding any meetings, pointing out that the Brotherhood has ended its time in Tunisia.
Numerous charges
Ghannouchi faces a number of issues; The most prominent of these are financial corruption, terrorism, assassinations, terrorist travel to trouble spots, and espionage against the security of the Tunisian state. A few weeks ago, the judiciary in Tunisia arrested a number of leaders of the movement on charges related to conspiracy against state security, attempted coup d’état, and financial corruption.
