Elon Musk warns of a third world war… What’s happening?

International concerns are growing about the possibility of the ongoing conflict between Palestinian factions and the Israeli army since October 7th leading to a third world war, given regional interventions. Several countries and military figures have warned about this scenario.

The latest of these warnings came from technology billionaire Elon Musk, who said on Monday that the war between Israel and Hamas in Gaza, and the ongoing Russian war in Ukraine, increase the chances of a third world war breaking out. Musk stated on his social media platform (X), Twitter formerly: “We need to achieve peace in Ukraine, and I believe we need to restore normal relations with Russia.”

He added, “The third world war is a civilizational danger we may not recover from, so we need to prioritize avoiding the third world war, and this is what truly matters.”

The billionaire had previously proposed a solution to end the war in Ukraine, which could have involved ceding significant territory in Ukraine to Russia. He called for a ceasefire once again on Monday, stating that the war against Russia is a frozen conflict. Ukrainian officials mocked Musk’s suggestions, describing them as primitive.

However, the billionaire remained an influential figure in the war, as the Ukrainian army benefited from his powerful internet technology (Starlink), despite accusations that Musk had suspended communications to the Ukrainian army at certain times.

Commenting on the war between Israel and Hamas in Gaza due to a sudden attack by Hamas, Musk said that the United States might be tested through the alliance of Russia, China, and Iran. He said about the United States facing such an alliance, “We don’t have an overwhelming advantage in industrial strength.” “The basis of war is economic power, especially industrial production, and, fundamentally, the number of tanks, rifles, and drones you can produce compared to the other side.”

Furthermore, a former British Army commander warned that the intensification of the war between Israel and Hamas could lead to the outbreak of a “third world war.”

The Spanish newspaper “20 Minutos” quoted Admiral Alan West, the British Navy commander in the early 21st century and the former military adviser to Prime Minister Gordon Brown, as saying, “We are just steps away from starting a global conflict that could be called the third world war.”

If things go “very badly,” Admiral West expects the United Kingdom and the United States to deploy forces to Israel, which could lead Lebanon, Syria, Iran, and Russia into war.
