The official Emirati news agency, WAM, stated that an Emirati aid ship carrying 4,016 tons of humanitarian materials arrived yesterday in the city of El-Arish, Egypt, in preparation for its entry into Gaza. This is part of the “The Gallant Knight 3” humanitarian operation launched by the UAE to alleviate the suffering of Palestinian brothers in the region.

The ship, which departed from the port of Fujairah, carries 3,465 tons of food, 420 tons of shelter materials, and 131 tons of medical aid. These were secured by the Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation for Humanitarian Works, the Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan Foundation for Charitable and Humanitarian Works, in addition to the Emirates Red Crescent.

The ship was welcomed by Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation for Development and International Organizations, Sultan Mohammed Al Shamsi, the UAE Ambassador to the Arab Republic of Egypt, Mariam Khalifa Al Kaabi, and the Secretary-General of the UAE Red Crescent, Rashid Mubarak Al Mansoori, along with the Governor of North Sinai, Major General Mohamed Abdel Fadil Shousha.

Al Shamsi stated in a press statement: “The UAE has promptly provided relief and food aid to the people of the Gaza Strip since the beginning of the crisis. This reflects the UAE’s commitment to alleviating the suffering of the Palestinian people from the ongoing difficult conditions, demonstrating the values of humanitarian giving and solidarity deeply rooted in the UAE towards supporting brothers in times of crises.”

Mansoori mentioned, “This humanitarian aid underscores the continued efforts of the UAE in supporting developmental initiatives and providing relief to the Palestinian brothers affected by the war in the Gaza Strip.”

He affirmed that the UAE has achieved many successes and accomplishments for the affected segments and categories, making it one of the most significant humanitarian and developmental aid donors worldwide.

The total Emirati aid provided to the Palestinian people within the “The Gallant Knight 3” operation, until before December 15th, exceeded 7,523 tons of aid. The total number of flights within the Emirati air bridge reached 111 aircraft and more than 63 trucks.

The commitment of the UAE embodies the values of solidarity and cooperation with the Palestinian people, based on a long history of humanitarian and relief work, during which the UAE has been keen on providing all possible forms of support.
