Finding a severed leg in the New York subway
During the weekend, a human leg was found on the subway tracks in New York, in a horrific incident being investigated by the city’s police to locate the full body, it was announced on Tuesday.
The police explained that their officers responded to a call on Saturday midday reporting the discovery of “human remains” on the tracks of the fourth line in the Bronx area, according to what was reported by Agence France-Presse.
The police added, “Our officers found a human leg when they arrived.”
The New York subway network has witnessed some tragic incidents in recent years that have garnered media attention, such as incidents where passengers were pushed onto the tracks by criminals or individuals suffering from mental disorders.
Authorities are also trying to raise awareness about the phenomenon of “subway surfers,” reckless individuals who film themselves on the roofs of moving trains and share the videos on social media platforms. These actions have resulted in a significant number of fatal accidents in recent years. Last week, a 34-year-old man died, and five others were injured due to gunshots in another station in the Bronx.
