An Iranian Kills 12 Family Members


An Iranian man, today Saturday, killed 12 members of his family in the city of “Faryab” in Kerman province, southeast Iran.

Kerman province police commander General Nasser Farshid said, “This incident occurred in one of the rural areas of the city of Faryab,” adding that a young man killed 12 family members and injured three others from his family using a Kalashnikov rifle during a fight with his family and then fled.”

Farshid explained that “the attacking young man was killed in a shooting incident while being pursued by Faryab police officers.”

Meanwhile, the official Iranian news agency IRNA quoted Kerman’s judiciary chief Ibrahim Hamidi as saying that the reason for the shooting was a “family dispute,” adding that the attacker’s father, brother, and brother’s wife were among the dead.
