Grande Calls on Production Companies to Provide Mental Health Support for Young Artists

Singer and actress Ariana Grande has urged production companies and record labels to provide psychological support for young artists, emphasizing the importance of mental health in their careers.

In an interview on the podcast WTF with Marc Maron, Ariana Grande spoke about the challenges she has faced since entering the entertainment industry at age 19. She discussed the psychological toll of fame, including criticism of her appearance and rumors about her personal life.

Now 31 years old, the star asserted that fame can negatively impact artists. She believes major companies should include mental health support in contracts to ensure artists receive the assistance they need throughout their careers in the entertainment industry.

She stressed the necessity of providing regular therapy sessions for young actors and musicians, who face immense pressure as their fame rises.

Grande’s remarks come amid increased scrutiny of workplace abuses in children’s television networks, particularly following the release of the documentary Quiet on Set, which exposes mistreatment endured by former Nickelodeon stars.

Similarly, pop singer Chappell Roan called for better working conditions for young artists during the Grammy Awards. She urged production companies to grant them fair labor rights, including proper wages and health insurance.
