Johnny Depp wins his lawsuit, but Amber refuses to pay

While he seemed to want to turn the page of his trial, Johnny Depp returns to the charge by refusing to pay the 2 million dollars he owes to Amber Heard.

You thought you were done with the judicial soap opera of the year? You were wrong. At the end of their highly publicized trial, Johnny Depp has revived hostilities against Amber Heard. This time the actor refuses to pay the $2 million which the court condemned him to pay to his former wife.

Last June, Johnny Depp emerged as the big winner of the trial against Amber Heard. The latter had been ordered to pay him $10 million in damages.

For his part, Johnny Depp had been recognized guilty of defamation. In the columns of DailyMailhis lawyer Adam Waldman had in fact qualified as “set-up” the accusations of sexual violence made by Amber Heard. The star of Pirates of the Caribbean was then ordered to pay $2 million to Amber Heard.

However, Johnny Depp has made it known through his lawyers that he refused to pay this amount to his ex-wife, believing that the jury’s decision was wrong.

An “erroneous” judgment according to the actor

In a 44-page text published on November 2 on Law & Crime NetworkJohnny Depp’s legal team said that “The trial was marked by many legal problems, and […] some decisions are wrong “.

Among the arguments advanced in this text, Depp’s lawyers claim that” no evidence of malice of Mr. Waldman had been shown at trial”. They explained thus: “Mr. Waldman worked in freelance and his conduct could in no way be automatically attributable to Mr. Depp. »

The actor seems determined not to pay a penny to Amber Heard… As a reminder, the latter had let it be known at the end of June that she challenged the decision made during the trial and therefore intended to appeal.
