Lapid-Erdogan Contact: Affirmations on the importance of regional stability


Israeli Prime Minister Yair Lapid has exchanged greetings with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on the return of the exchange of ambassadors between the two countries.

The Israeli Prime Minister’s Office said: “Prime Minister Yair Lapid spoke this evening with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan”.

He added: “The two leaders thanked each other for the recent development of relations between the two countries, following the dialog between Prime Minister Lapid and Turkish President Erdogan and the exchange of visits between the two foreign ministers”.

He continued: “The Prime Minister and the President congratulated each other on the decision to restore full diplomatic representation and the return of the Ambassadors and Consuls General to Israel and Turkey”.

The Israeli Prime Minister’s Office also stated, “The Prime Minister and the President agreed that the latest development constitutes another very important building block in the consolidation of relations, which will also lead to many achievements, with a focus on the areas of economy and tourism”.

The Prime Minister’s Office announced that the Joint Economic Commission between the two countries will be held in Israel in September.

He said: “The two leaders emphasized the great importance of Israel and Turkey in maintaining regional stability.”

The date of the ambassadors’ return to Tel Aviv and Ankara has not been officially announced.
