Muslim Brotherhood in Libya Banking on Terror Mufti Sadik Al-Ghariani
A few days ago, the ousted Mufti of Libya, Sadek Al-Ghariani, attacked the UN mission in the country, calling for armed action against it, during his appearance on the program “Islam and Life” on the Brotherhood-affiliated (Al-Tanasuh) channel.
The local website (Al-Sa’a 24) reported that Al-Ghariani stated: “The international community controls Libya through the UN mission due to the failure of those who carry arms to fulfill their duty.” He stressed that “everyone who cares about the country should not respond to the calls of the mission.”

He described the UN mission’s advisory committee as “the last project of chaos,” adding that its members are “the worst of the worst,” considering that “UN projects do not bring any good; they aim to destabilize the country.”
The position of Mohamed Margham, a member of the Muslim Brotherhood and their representative in the previous National Congress, aligns with that of Sadek Al-Ghariani, the spiritual leader of the Muslim Brotherhood in Libya, who has repeatedly incited armed resistance and rejected national reconciliation and peaceful solutions.

Margham rejected reconciliation and dialogue with the commander of the Libyan Armed Forces, Marshal Khalifa Haftar, considering it a violation of many prohibitions. He called for following the example of Syrian factions that took up arms and ultimately succeeded in overthrowing Syrian President Bashar al-Assad‘s regime, according to (Middle East Online).
This is not the first time that Margham has incited violence and armed resistance against the Libyan army forces led by Marshal Khalifa Haftar. He has previously urged the ousted Prime Minister of the Government of National Unity, Abdelhamid Dbeibah, to establish contacts with the new Syrian leadership and the de facto leader of Syria, Ahmed Al-Sharaa, formerly known as (Al-Juolani), the head of the radical Islamist group Hayat Tahrir al-Sham. He suggested drawing on this experience, considering them “the most important ally that could support the process of building a modern Libyan state” in various fields, including economic, political, cultural, educational, and security, according to the Libyan newspaper (Al-‘Anwan).
