One of the prominent female figures associated with the Muslim Brotherhood… What do you know about Lana Al-Sumaiday?
The terrorist Muslim Brotherhood relies on various tools to spread lies, incite discord, and manipulate public opinion. Among them are media personalities like the preacher Lana Al-Sumaiday, an Iraqi lecturer and social activist holding British citizenship. She is one of the notable female figures of the Muslim Brotherhood in Britain and a former head of the Muslim Women‘s Association, one of the prominent women’s structures affiliated with the Brotherhood in Britain.
Born and raised in Mosul, Iraq, she studied in Jordan and graduated from the Faculty of Sharia at the University of Jordan. She obtained a master’s degree in contemporary Islamic thought from the Faculty of Sharia at the Arab University of Beirut, according to a definition published by the Arab Center for Extremism Studies.
She has published numerous articles about the reality of Muslim women in Europe. In 2020, she released a book titled “Challenges of Contemporary Migrant Arab Muslim Families in the West: Britain as a Model.” She is also a well-known media figure, regularly appearing on Brotherhood-affiliated channels in Britain, notably on the Al-Hiwar channel, to discuss issues related to Islam and Muslims in the West.
A study published by the Trends research and consultancy website predicted a bleak future for the Brotherhood-affiliated media, considering the dark fate the organization is currently facing. This comes in the context of the confrontation with the official media of Arab governments combating extremism, notably in Egypt, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE, in the period following the events of the so-called “Arab Spring.”
