In a statement issued yesterday, the Rapid Support Forces urged the residents of the villages in Gezira State to distance themselves from the remnants’ schemes and attempts to involve citizens in the fighting under the guise of popular resistance. They emphasized the need to stay away from armed individuals, stressing that their forces would show no leniency toward the remnants of the terrorists and would confront them with full resolve.
The Rapid Support Forces confirmed in their statement that, day by day, the dimensions of the terrorist Islamic movement’s conspiracy and the militias of Al-Burhan are becoming clearer, with the goal of creating a confrontation between the Rapid Support Forces and civilians in desperate attempts for political and media gains. They pointed out that the brigades of the terrorists, “referring to the army,” had exposed the plan to arm the citizens in the villages of Gezira State through videos documented on social media, showing the “remnants” and some people from the village of Takina and other villages, threatening to attack their forces.

The Rapid Support Forces added, “Our forces have been monitoring the movements of the remnants and the operations of mobilizing and arming citizens from certain villages and areas in Gezira State to attack our forces. They confirmed that the army aims to sow chaos, push citizens into the battlefields after distributing weapons to them, and then promote this through fronts manufactured by military intelligence and the intelligence services concerning the Gezira Conference’s decision to support the army.”

The Attempted Assassination of al-Burhan Sparks Debate on the Involvement of the Islamic Movement and the Army
The Rapid Support Forces also stated that they possess sufficient evidence of the involvement of the leadership of the terrorist Muslim Brotherhood group in the indiscriminate mobilization operations, used for political and media exploitation under claims of violations. The greatest evidence of this is al-Burhan‘s public declaration, in a speech in the Batna region, about arming civilians under the name of popular resistance, “people’s defense,” and his readiness to arm all regions.
