The UAE continues to support the residents of Socotra… What has been provided?

The United Arab Emirates, through its humanitarian arms, is implementing developmental projects and residential units in the Yemeni island of Socotra to alleviate the suffering of needy families affected by natural disasters that have struck the archipelago in recent years.

According to the Arab Scene website, the Emirati Red Crescent handed over, in the presence of the governor of Socotra Archipelago, Rafat Al-Thaqali, on the day before yesterday, (22) residential houses to the residents of the Khayam area in the south of the archipelago. These housing units were built with generous Emirati support for families in need who were affected by hurricanes and rainy storms that hit the governorate in the past periods.

Governor Al-Thaqali inspected the components of the houses, each of which includes two bedrooms, a living room, a kitchen, and a bathroom, along with basic services. The delivery process was met with great joy from the benefiting families who expressed their thanks and appreciation to their brothers in the UAE for helping them provide safe housing.

He noted that the project is an extension of Emirati housing projects that targeted the affected and needy families in the governorate.

Governor Al-Thaqali and the representative of the Emirati Red Crescent also presented a material grant from the UAE to the residents of the region as part of a humanitarian response plan aimed at understanding the needs of families and alleviating their suffering.
