USA: Three Killed and 100 Injured in Powerful Texas Tornado


More than three people died and about 100 were injured when a powerful tornado hit a town in North Texas on Thursday, June 16, causing widespread destruction, media reported.

Millions of Americans in several southern and mid-western states have been placed on extreme weather alert as dangerous storms, fueled by high temperatures, strike the region, causing tornadoes, thunderstorms, and hailstorms the size of golf balls.

Alerts are in effect in parts of Colorado, Oklahoma, Arkansas, and Florida.

A powerful tornado hit Perryton, Texas, on Thursday. Drone imagery shows several buildings, including destroyed or damaged mobile homes, uprooted trees and overturned vehicles in the southern town, home to 8,000 people.
