Erdogan to Visit UAE … Its Time and Goals
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan will visit the United Arab Emirates after the Eid al-Adha holiday to improve economic and political relations with the country.
According to Handeh Ferat, a newspaper close to Erdogan’s government, the visit is expected to conclude $40 billion in UAE investment agreements in Turkey. The first investment package will prioritize sectors such as renewable energy, transport (ports and airports) and the reconstruction of the quake-affected states, which will be followed by other areas such as the defense industries.
On June 10th, UAE President Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan visited Turkey and met with President Erdogan in Istanbul.
The Turkish Presidency said that President Erdogan met with the President of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed, at Ataturk Airport in Istanbul. They discussed bilateral relations between the two countries and ways of strengthening them in all fields.
In a tweet following the visit, which was posted in Arabic, Turkish and English, the UAE President said that he discussed with the Turkish President strengthening the strategic relations between their two countries.
“The UAE is keen to deepen co-operation with its friends to support peace and prosperity in the region and the world,” he said.
Turkey and the UAE agreed to make direct, sustained and long-term investments, including the Bayraktar deal.
