The 30-Minute Rule for Maintaining Your Teeth
We all know the traditional steps for dental care, such as brushing twice daily, using mouthwash, and regularly flossing to maintain oral hygiene. However, it’s easy to overlook the best practices for protecting tooth enamel.
A dental hygiene expert on TikTok, known as “Madame Sweet,” shared her top tips for optimal dental health in a recent video where she explained the “30-Minute Rule.”
The 30-Minute Rule Explained
Madame Sweet advised, “Here’s the plan. Wait until you’ve finished dinner and then brush your teeth, but you should wait 30 minutes. This is because when you eat, there is a lot of acid in your mouth, which weakens the enamel. So, you should wait until it hardens again before brushing your teeth.”

She also warned against snacking after brushing your teeth as it could soften the enamel once again.
In the comments section, reactions varied. One user mentioned, “There are so many rules; I’m exhausted,” while another affirmed, “I can confirm that,” and a third simply said, “Thank you.”
