Iran’s militias destabilize the Arab countries
During an emergency Arab League gathering in Cairo, Saudi Arabia’s Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan stated on Monday that Iran’s support for militias in the region create a risk for the security and stability of Arab countries.
The minister also said that Iran’s nuclear activities and its ballistic missiles threaten regional stability, adding that he appeals on the international community to stop Iran’s violations.
Indeed, the Iranian regime that supports the Houthis against the internationally-recognized Yemen government as well as other groups in Lebanon and Iraq, deliveries its militias with missiles, drones, and even training.
Also, the Houthis have increased their assaults on Saudi Arabia in the past two days, and have launched more than four explosive-laden drones towards the Kingdom. Prince Faisal also denounced the Houthis’ assaults on civilian infrastructures and demanded to the group to cease its violations.
Furthermore, Yemeni foreign minister Mohammed Abdullah al-Hadhrami declared that Iran has been stimulating the Houthis to abolish Yemen. He also said that the group’s recent escalation in Marib is indication of their refusal to reach a peaceful solution.
Prince Faisal, when he spoke on the Israel-Palestine conflict, repeated Saudi Arabia’s support for a Palestinian state based on the borders of 1967.
Otherwise, the Arab League gathering that was held in Egypt’s capital city Cairo, was concentrated on reviving the Israeli-Palestinian peace process and Arab unity.
