The Fraudulent Groom: A Young Man Tricks 8 Women into Marriage Before Suddenly Disappearing

An Iraqi man managed to deceive eight women by marrying each of them for a short period, seizing their money and savings before vanishing without a trace.

The latest victim of this “fraudulent groom” revealed in a television interview that the man had proposed to her following local traditions. However, just three days after their wedding, he disappeared.

He reappeared 15 days later, only to vanish again. After months of manipulation and persuasion, he convinced her to sell her car and gold jewelry under the pretext of purchasing joint property.

After obtaining 25 million Iraqi dinars and $69,000 from her, he disappeared completely, leaving behind only a divorce document.

The biggest shock came when she discovered that he had married seven other women—three from Baghdad and the rest from different provinces. To expose his scheme, the eighth wife created a WhatsApp group that included all his victims, allowing them to share their similar experiences and stories.

According to their testimonies, the man took money from each woman under false promises and then sent a divorce document in absentia once he had achieved his goal.

Appearing Wealthy

Working in the automotive sector enabled him to rent luxury vehicles, which helped him create the illusion of wealth. He used these vehicles when visiting the families of his intended victims, reinforcing his image as a successful man.

Issuing Divorce in Absentia
