Egypt: Al-Sissi oriented the government to provide all possible support to Libya
On Thursday, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sissi ordered the government to use all its potential and offer all possible help to support the Libyan people. He actually was informed by Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly about his recent visit to Libya.
On his part, Presidential Spokesman, Bassam Radi, stated that al-Sissi gave an order to provide all possible support to the Libyans and to intensify opportunities of collaboration between their countries to enhance their economy, security and stability, affirming the necessity to backing the political way in Libya that should lead to elections in December.
Madbouly also told al-Sissi about the talks that he held with Libyan officials, including the deal about reopening Egypt’s diplomatic missions in Tripoli and Benghazi as soon as possible.
The Prime Minister also transmitted Libyan interim Prime Minister Abdulhamid Dbeibeh’s demand for Cairo to take the necessary instant procedures to allow Egyptian workers to return to Libya. He also demanded to take the essential preparations with Egyptian companies, particularly energy, transport and housing firms, to execute many projects that must be presented soon in Libya.
A new phase of cooperation
It should note that Libya and Egypt marked a new phase of cooperation after that Madbouly visited Tripoli at the head of an important delegation on Tuesday. Thus, the two parties contracted many memorandums like one about the reopening of civilian flights between the two countries, after six years of interruption.
There were also others deals in the memorandums including consolidate the ties between the two countries in transportation, infrastructure, health, electricity and communications.
Moreover, Madbouly debated, in Tripoli, with Dbeibeh regional and international matters of joint interest, and highlighted the importance of increasing coordination and political consultations on many subjects.
Besides, al-Sissi discussed, last month, with the chief of the Libyan Presidential Council, Mohamed Al-Menfi, prospections for improved cooperation between their countries.
