“Concerning Symptoms”: A Fog with a “Chemical” Smell Covers Florida’s Skies

A mysterious fog emitting a “chemical” smell has spread across the skies of Florida, USA, raising concerns about the health and safety of residents.

The National Weather Service (NWS) issued dense fog warnings near Jacksonville and Tallahassee.
Although fog is a natural phenomenon in the region, according to the Daily Mail, locals insist that this time, it seems unusual.

A resident of Lake County stated: “The fog is extremely thick; this is not normal fog.”
Another person mentioned that it looked like smoke, despite no fires being reported in the area.

Many residents have also reported health symptoms after being exposed to the fog, including:

  • Sore throat
  • Congestion
  • Eye irritation
  • Fatigue
  • Loss of appetite
  • Digestive issues

These reports come just weeks after a similar thick fog appeared in the region last month, which locals described as having a metallic smell.

The first reports of this mysterious fog date back to last December, when residents across different parts of the country reported the presence of a dense, chemical-smelling fog covering their cities.

Although such reports had decreased in recent weeks, Floridians are now facing a new wave of this phenomenon, which they suspect is causing illnesses.

Many locals have shared photos of the thick gray fog covering their neighborhoods, voicing their belief that it could be part of a chemical or biological attack.
They also expressed frustration with state and local officials, accusing them of failing to acknowledge the fog as a serious public health threat.

Experts, however, suggest that the health symptoms reported by residents could also be attributed to common winter viruses.

Exposure to fog may exacerbate certain symptoms, especially for individuals with respiratory conditions such as asthma.
