“Convicted Criminal” : Biden’s Campaign Fires at Trump

In a new announcement criticizing the Republican candidate, labeling him a “convicted criminal,” President Joe Biden‘s campaign has fired shots at his predecessor, Donald Trump.

The announcement, which comes amidst a heated electoral atmosphere, highlights Trump‘s legal trials and recent criminal conviction. It is titled “Character Matters,” according to the American website “The Hill.”

The 30-second ad is part of a $50 million paid campaign for the month of June, where the narrator comments on images of Trump in a New York court: “He was convicted of 34 felonies and for sexual assault, and he committed financial fraud.”

The narrator continues: “Meanwhile, Joe Biden was working to lower healthcare costs and make big corporations pay their fair share,” before concluding by noting that “this election is between a convicted criminal who only seeks his own interest, and a president who fights for your family.”

The ad is one of the most “aggressive” efforts so far by Biden‘s campaign against his Republican opponent, due to his conviction on 34 criminal charges related to falsifying business records after a weeks-long trial in Manhattan.

The two rivals are set to meet face-to-face on June 27, in the first planned presidential debate, hosted by the American news network CNN in Atlanta.

In a statement, Michael Tyler, Biden‘s campaign communications director, said: “Trump approaches the first debate as a convicted criminal who continues to prove that he will do anything and hurt anyone if it means more power and revenge.”

He added: “That is why he was convicted, that is why he incited a violent mob to storm the Capitol on January 6, and that is why his entire campaign has been an exercise in revenge.”

He continued: “This man is blind and does not see the people a president should serve, and he will do anything for personal gain and power.”

Trump criticized the legal system, claiming that the White House and Biden were behind his legal troubles to harm him politically before the elections scheduled for November.
