Cristiano Ronaldo… What happened at the Juventus meeting?
On Thursday morning, a meeting took place between Juventus officials and Jorge Mendes, Cristiano Ronaldo’s agent.
The Sky Sport Italia channel reported Thursday that Ronaldo had told fellow newcomers of his desire to move to Manchester City and face new challenges on his journey.
Accelerated developments regarding the possible movement of Cristiano Ronaldo into the ranks of Manchester City during the current summer transition period seem to have prompted Mendes to hold this emergency meeting with Juventus officials.
Mendes then met with Juventus officials on Thursday, as the session seemed not as friendly as Ronaldo hoped, with the Italian club’s management insisting on the money it wanted for its approval to sell Ronaldo.
According to the famous Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, the Juventus administration wants to receive a sum of 28 to 30 million Euros to approve Ronaldo’s remaining departure on his one-season contract.
Romano explained that City had made an offer to Ronaldo, including a two-year contract, with an annual salary ranging from 14 to 15 million euros.
City has so far refused to pay any money for Ronaldo’s inclusion, as he wants to win him for free, and does not want his Brazilian attacker, Gabriel Jesus, to be included in the deal, which makes things not easy yet.
The reasons for Ronaldo’s desire to leave Juventus include his disagreement with coach Massimiliano Allegri, who does not put Don in his long-term plans with Juventus.
The player himself is also willing to leave to face new challenges, while Juventus is not reluctant to leave the debt because of his high salary, which the current Juventus management is unable to continue to pay due to the unfavorable economic conditions of Italian clubs resulting from the outbreak of the novel coronavirus.
